At about 14:00 on October 17, a new cold storage in Baicheng, Jilin Province broke out into a fire. The fire was very fierce, and thick black smoke rolled for several kilometers. The cold storage was located in Zhanyu Town, Tongyu County.

After the accident, the local fire department mobilized a number of fire engines to rush to the scene for rescue at the first time. Interestingly, the onlookers at the scene were not frightened at all while watching firemen putting out the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Although it's still not clear whether the cold storage owner had stored any goods in the new cold storage warehouse, this fire has directly caused the new cold storage lose its function, and the loss is tremendous.
